Recently SA tourism have agreed to sponsor Tottenham Hotspur with R1bn to promote tourism to SA there was widespread outcry and now it appears to be dead in the water, here’s The Daily Maverick’s take on it, I couldn’t have put it better…..
Last week, Daily Maverick’s Rebecca Davis exposed how the South African Department of Tourism was planning to sponsor the English football club, Tottenham Hotspur, in a deal worth almost R1-billion.
This week, that deal appears no longer to be on the table, according to presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya, who said: “Even though the Presidency has not been briefed, we do not think spending so much money in the manner that is being suggested will be justified.”
Ja, nee.
